machine sewing: rotary cutting,
pinning, seam allowances and
straight stitching.

Learn to "read" your knitting and fix
basic mistakes. Problems that will be
covered are fixing dropped, twisted or
slipped stitches, tinking and lifelines.

Experience needed:
Knit, Purl, Bind off

Requirements: Please bring practice
yarn and knitting and crochet needles
appropriate for the yarn.
Complete 3swatches:
(1) 4" x 4" garter stitch
(1) 4" x 4" stockinette
(1) 4" x " seed stitch.
Bring a small amount of
waster yarn in different
color than swatches, darning
needles, stitch markers with an
opening (either the "safety pin"
type or the circle with an open point.)

A simple shawl that uses
a repetition of various
stitch patterns
to achieve
a more complex effect.
Students must be able to cast on, knit, purl,
pick up stitches,
increase, decrease and yarn over.

in size 10,
two stitch markers and
one "J" crochet hook.
